I’m Kathy Joyce, and with the maiden name of Spring, it seemed an obvious choice to use for my Somerset-based upholstery and soft furnishing business.

My love of working with textiles began as soon as I was able to hold a needle and crochet hook. I grew up in a family surrounded by women who were always stitching in some form or another.

After attending my first upholstery class I was immediately hooked and went onto my professional industry diploma through the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers. 

I’m now based in a fabulous shared studio space on the Mendips, where I continue to grow my client base, and I also teach part time at the Southwest Upholstery School in Midsomer Norton.

I’m at my happiest when breathing new life into an old frame that has a story to tell. I love the problem-solving each project brings and the layers of different skills that every piece requires.
